Friendly Owl was built with a single mission: to provide the best time tracking experience without ever compromising user privacy. We believe that your work activity is your personal business, and we've engineered our software to reflect that.

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not track you across the web.
• We do not share your screenshots with third parties.
• Everything stays on your device by default.

2. Data Capture & OCR

Friendly Owl captures screenshots of your display every 5 minutes to identify your current activity. These captures are processed using on-device Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

This means the text is extracted and analyzed directly on your Mac. No image data is sent to our servers for processing. The analysis happens in a sandboxed environment to ensure maximum security.

3. Local Data Storage

All captured data, including screenshots and extracted text, is stored in a hidden, encrypted local directory on your Mac.

4. Automatic Redaction

Our vision engine is designed to recognize and automatically redact sensitive information before it's even stored in your timeline. This includes:

• Credit card numbers and CVV codes
• Password fields and visible secrets
• Personal email addresses (optional setting)
